Types of Wood Cutting Machines & Tools Commonly Used

Table Cutter / Table Cutting Machine

This machine is mostly used to cut large pieces


of ply and logs of wood into smaller pieces. As
the blade of the machine is open, extra
precaution is needed while cutting wood.
Hand Cutter / Hand Cutting Machine

This machine is mostly used to cut longer logs


of wood into smaller pieces. This is
comparatively safer to operate as the machine
has covered blades and only runs when bend
down to cut the wood.
Bend Saw
This machine is used to cut wood in Circular
Shapes or Circular Edges
N-17, 1.5 Inches Stapler Pins

N-21, 2 Inches Stapler Pins


Stapler Machine
This Hand Stapler is connected to a powerful
compressor through pipe. The compressor
pushes a strong air pressure to inject stapler
pins into the wooden joints. It has replaced the
traditional style of carpentering work with a
Nail and Hammer
Type & Sizes of Wood Commonly Used

“ Meranti Wood ” is Commonly used by us for


all the Structures of Sofa. Though we do use
other types like Mango or Pine as per Client
Requirement for Structures.

We also use Sheesham ( Commonly Known as Teak) for


Side Tables / Arms in some models of Sofas.
The most common size of Wooden log used for Structures is 1.5
inches X 1 inches.

In addition to above Size, the other size of Wooden log used for
Structures is 2 inches X 1.5 inches.
The most common size of Ply used for Structures is
12 mm.

The other size of Ply used for Structures is 18 mm.


Other Hardware used in Structures
Sinuous Spring
The S-shape Sinuous Springs are used below Seating
Foams to give Sofa Suspension and Sitting Comfort
to Sofa. The Spring is nailed on the frame using
hammer.
DOs & DON’Ts in Structure Making

For starting structure making, Carpenter must


ensure that the clean logs of Wood are used.
DOs & DON’Ts in Structure Making

Carpenter must ensure that the logs are cut in exact sizes
required. If he has made the structure of a model for the first
time, he must prepare “Farma” of that structure in correct
dimension so that every time, structure’s dimension should
remain same.

Carpenter should make sure that there


should be no space in joints and “ Koni
” should touch both the surfaces
properly.

Carpentar should make sure that


stapler pins are properly inserted
in the joints.

Each Spring should be cut in equal


sizes and nailed at equal distance from
each other. Each spring must have
equal bulge towards Seat.
Upholstery Work, Commonly known as
Foaming

Normally this belt is called kniwar


and it is used for the comfort ,
basically if there was a lounger ,
1 str , 2 str or 3 str all of these
install the belt of 3 belt for seat
and 3 belt for seat beck.
ASTAR

This fabric is called Astar and this is the


use of fix the foaming and this fabric is
use only for the uncover areas for the
structure except seat back
Half inch Types of foam and where we used

Types of foam and where we used


• half inch foam we used it sofa back
• One inch foam we used for the seat back
One inch • Three inch form we used for the seat

We fix it for half inch foam that means almost


foaming work has to be done.

Three inch
After foaming work we use the
Bostick for fix the foaming like
this it’s a permanent glue there is
no chance to remove the foam.
We use this glue stick quality and with the use of Bo Stick for fix the
foaming
This is the stitching
machine for the fabric and
the way to work for stitch
the fabric as per structured
sofa.
After foaming we look at this and the same situation
we put here for fabric

We also use half mm


polyfill for the
purpose of softness
after fix the foam.
This is the stapler pin while set
the fabric set in to the structure

the fabric when it was not loose
( while using this machine labour put
the glubs in hand for safety purpose )

for the purpose of
( fitting ) fix the sofa
arms and wooden parts
for the safety
After fitting the wooden part and
arms of sofa we cover the lower
part of sofa in a proper way and
look like this

legs will be safe at the time of
