this world. Thank you for blessing me to fulfilled with your
light and be a blessing and a guide to many. I am a beacon
because of who you are ,FATHER. May you work in me

What is Globalization?
According to Joseph E. Stiglitz (2002), globalization is the closer
integration of the countries and people of the world brought about by
the enormous reduction of costs of transportation and communication,
and the breaking down of artificial barriers to the flows of goods,
services, capital, knowledge, and people across borders.
Held, et al. (1999) that globalization captures elements of a widespread
perception that there is a broadening and speeding up of world-wide
interconnectedness in all aspects of life, from the cultural to the political,
the financial to the environmental.
What is Globalization?
Cole (2018) shared that according to sociologist, globalization is an
ongoing process that involves interconnectedness changes in the
economic, cultural, social and political spheres of society.
Beck (2000), defined globalization as a process through which
transactional actors undermine sovereign national states with varying
prospect if power, direction, identities and network.
Because of our exposure to the concept of globalization has largely
been through an economic lens, it’s tempting to limit globalization
that concerns economist and businessmen. But globalization and its
effects go beyond import or export and Foreign Direct Investment
(FDI).
Why globalization is important?
• Attempt to learn a bit more about the different backgrounds of students in your
class.
• Celebrate different cultural festivals.
• Set presentations projects for students on a culture or nation
• Host a culture day.
• Include a variety of books in your classroom a book collection.
