Big Data Analytics PPT-2 (Section-A)

This document is a presentation on big data analytics given by Er. Ajay Sharma to 5th semester computer science engineering students. It introduces the topic by defining data and explaining that data comes from everywhere, including what we do, say, and generate with sensors, computers, and documents. It classifies data as structured, unstructured, or human-generated and machine-generated. It then provides two definitions of big data and explains that big data is generated in many areas like experiments, research, social networks, e-commerce, and more. Finally, it shows how the amount of data, measured in exabytes, has grown enormously over the past 15 years.

Data: Where does it come from?????

It comes from Everywhere:

 We Speak

 We Move

 Sensors

 Computers

 Documents

Classification of Data

 Structured

 Unstructured

 Human Generated Data – email , blogs , videos, pictures, etc.

 Machine Generated Data – Automatics alerts , logs, sensor data

Definition of Big Data

Definition – 1
Big data is the term for a collection of data sets so large and complex that
it becomes difficult to process using on-hand database management tools
or traditional data processing applications.

Definition – 2
Big Data Technologies can be defined as software tools for analyzing,
processing, and extracting data from an extremely complex and large data
set with which traditional management tools can never deal.
