PRESENT PERFECT

For – Since
For and Since
We use it to talk about action which started in the past and continues
up to the present. 
For
• We use it to talk about a period of time (a few days, half an
hour, two years...)

Examples:
• He has studied in Dublin for four years.
• We have worked for nine hours. 
• My dog has not eaten for two days.
Since
• We use it to talk about a specific point in time (Monday, 2010,
January, last week)

Examples
• We have learnt Spanish here since 2002. 
• I have loved you since the first time I met you.
• She has not attended classes since last week.
