What is FOLK DANCES?
Folk dances are dances
developed by groups of
people that reflect the
traditional life of the people
of a certain country or
region.
• May be divided into the regional or national
• Philippine folk dances are diverse, and include
religious, ceremonial, courtship, funeral, combative,
exorcism, torture, comic and game dances.
• The dance use movements of the head, waist, arms,
feet throwing, circling, swooping, offering,
crowning.
• Folk dance is defined as a traditional dance of given
people. A definite pattern or dance routine is usually
specified and followed.
