STRUCTURE
Be going to: uses
We use be going to to :
⏷ Intentions : to talk about future plans and intentions
⏷ Predictions : to predict something that we think is certain to
happen

Positive S + am/is/are + He is going to

Fast speech : gonna
⏷ We use gonna /gənə/ instead of going to in informal contexts, especially in
speaking and in song lyrics.
⏷ When people speak fast they often pronounce going to as gonna /gənə/.
Ex: What are going to do? Sounds like What are you gonna do?
Mini practice: Repeat sentences and use “gonna” to replace “going
to”
