Rural Electrification of A Model Village in Pakistan Using Solar PV System

This document discusses a project to provide rural electrification to a model village in Pakistan using solar PV systems. Key steps of the project included conducting technical surveys of the village, analyzing population and electrical load data, designing the solar PV system, estimating costs, and documenting the project. The solar PV system was designed to provide power to public facilities like schools and clinics, as well as solar home systems and street lights for the village. The total estimated cost was over 15 million PKR and the project was estimated to take 3 months but actually took 5 months to complete. The project aims to improve socioeconomic conditions and access to health facilities in rural Pakistan through renewable energy.

Rural Electrification of a Model Village

in Pakistan Using Solar PV System

Name: Engr. Irfan Yousuf

Introduction

 To Design of a state of the art solar power system.

 Load calculation & mapping of a model solar village.
 Improving the well being of grid affected community
in Pakistan.
 To help energy stake holders & policy makers to
take initiative for renewable energy projects.
Intro…
 The entire world is rapidly moving towards green energy.
 Bangladesh has installed more than 320,000 Solar Home
System (SHS) in rural areas by Grameen Shakti
Organization [1].
 In India 108,661 un-electrified towns have been powered
by Indian ministry of non-conventional energy in a joint
collaboration of National Renewable Energy Laboratory
(NREL) [2].

Time Anlysis of Entire Project
The overall estimated time for the entire
project was calculated in 3 Months.
The overall actual time for the execution of
the entire project is 5 months.
The excess time is required due to supply
chain issues and other ground realities.

Project Benefits

The socio economic impacts in rural areas of

Pakistan is increased.
The health facilities of the village dwellers is
enhanced.
