Anthropologist suggest that the batak are closely to the Aetas from central Lu
zon.
One suspects that Borneo was once connected to palawan by land bridge.
In 20th century, more and more immigrants mostly from Luzon, they chose Pa
lawan to build a new life.
The cuyunon gave the the word "Batak" to the tribe. Batak means" the mount
ain people"
Where they can be found?
they live in the northeast part of palawan island, close to the coastal villages
of Babuyan, Tinitian, and Malcampo.
Previously, they lived in several river valleys of Babuyan , Maoyon, Tanabag,
Tarabanan, Laingogan, Tagnipa, and Caramay.
