Electronic Notice Board Using GSM

The document describes an electronic notice board that uses GSM technology for wireless communication. The proposed model replaces conventional notice boards and allows notices to be changed remotely by sending SMS messages from a mobile phone to a GSM modem connected to the notice board. When an SMS is received, the microcontroller reads the message from the GSM modem and displays it on an OLED display. This allows notices to be updated easily without physically changing displays.

ELECTRONIC NOTICE

BOARD USING GSM

)
 We know the importance of notice board in public places like railway
stations, bus stations, airports. But changing notices day-to-day is a
difficult task.
 People are now adapted to the idea of the world at its finger-tips.
The use of mobile phones have increased drastically over years.
INTRODUCTION  The main aim of the project is to display the data on OLED whatever
we sent from mobile.
 There are many wireless communication technologies like
Bluetooth, RF communication, Zigbee etc. but GSM Technology
based communication allows long range, reliable and secure
communication.
EXISTING
MODELS
 The main goal of this project is to design a wireless board
using GSM technology, which can replace the currently used
conventional notice boards.
 The message received by the GSM is sent to Microcontroller that
displays it on notice board. GSM modules consists of a SIM card of
some number. The message transmitted by any number to this
PROPOSED number is received and saved in memory of a SIM card.

MODEL  When we send the message from the mobile. GSM modem which
is arranged at the display unit receives the message. Now the
controller reads the message from the GSM modem and displays
in on OLED.
 This module works with the AT commands. The message is
transferred to the display board when the AT command is
“AT+CMGR”.

MAX 232
1. Microcontroller:
Microcontroller is the heart of the system. It is used for
interfacing the display, memory and peripherals with GSM
modem.
The microcontroller used in this project is ATmega328. It is a low
power and high performance CMOS 8-bit micro computer with
HARDWARE 32k bytes of flash programmable and erasable read only
memory.
DESCRIPTION 2. MAX 232:
The MAX 232 converts signals from TIA 232 serial port to signals
suitable for use in TTL compatable digital logic circuits.

3. GSM MODEM:

A GSM modem is a wireless modem that works with a GSM
wireless network . It sends and receives data through radio
waves.
4. OLED Display:
• OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) is a flat light emitting technology, made by
placing a series of organic thin films between two conductors.
• When electrical current is applied, a bright light is emitted.

5. SIM card:
• A SIM card, or subscriber identity module, is a small card in your cellphone that
connects you to the network.
• Your SIM card contains your phone number, and lets you make phone calls, send text
messages, and more.

6. Buzzer:
• The buzzer is an electronic component that has the ability to produce sound when a
voltage is applied to it.
ARDUINO IDE SOFTWARE:
 The Arduino Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is a
SOFTWARE cross-platform application (for Windows, macOS, Linux) that is
DESCRIPTION written in functions from C and C++. It is used to write and
upload programs to Arduino compatible boards, but also, with the
help of third-party cores, other vendor development boards.
Hardware Implementation

RESULTS
Software Implementation
 No need of any complex wires to display the message on OLED as
it is wireless.
ADVANTAGES  Consumes less power and easy to operate.
OF PROPOSED  It is portable.
MODEL  No printing and photocopying costs. Thus saves time, energy and
finally environment.

• The prototype of the GSM based display toolkit was efficiently designed.
This prototype has facilities to be integrated with a display board thus
CONCLUSION making it truly mobile.
• The toolkit accepts the SMS, stores it, validates it and then displays it in
the OLED module.
