Q.1 how do you think Isabelle’s understanding
of theory and method change in adopting the
approach she choose ?
 I think Isabelle’s understandingof theory and method change in adopting the approach she
choose is very impressive and excellent . Because
1. As we can clearly see from the case , Isabelle seems to have good understanding about the
theory that’s why she is anxious and worried that only it would not be enough . She should
have its research along with the pratical relevance. Thus , she decided to get engage along
with the world of theory and world of practice to find the solutions of the problems arised.
2. She understood very the traditional approach is not gonna work well as she can see the worst
situation and examples of the previous researchers.
3. Further, the decision she made to make her research qualitative rather than quantitative is
much more impressive as well .
Q.2 What particulars knowledge and skills did
she develop in preparing the research?

 The main knowledge and skills that Isabelle develop during her research are as follows :
1. Both gotta know she has gone through both world of theory and pratical to find the
solutions arised between them.
2. She learned well to analyze the traditional approach that’s why she decided not to go
through traditional approach that’s is positivistic .
3. She got the knowledge that the manager’s past, present, future , expectation,
psychology and physiology also affect their decision so she decided not to pressurize
them
4. But she got the knowledge and skills to go for in-depth interview.
5. She developed emotional maturity to manage the whole process.
6. She managed to make the research rigorous , systematic and relevant to managers in
the workplace.
Q.3 What problems do you think she would have anticipated in
conducting research into pressure and coping among the managers
that her literature review may not have identified?

 I think the problems she would have anticipated in conduting research into pressuring and coping
aming managers that her literature review maynot have identified are as follow :
1. She have to go the world of practice to understand well and in details as world of theory wouldnot
be sufficient.
2. She had to give up traditional and positivistic approach and have to follow new way to get rid of
mathematical anaylsis and pressuring to managers
3. She had to understand the past, present, future, expectation, physcology and physiology of
managers to understand their way of coping strategies.
4. She had to focus on everything to get qualitative rather than quantitative research result
