The use of solar power system for generation of electricity nowadays it is
widely used. The solar light is most favored source of cnergy. because it is
environment friendly and pollution free. The sun vitality is independent and
boundless while other sources like petroleum, natural gas and coal arc
demonstrating their end. To raise the proficiency of sun based vitality
framework, solar panel based multi mobile charger and street lamp system can
be executed. Nowadays, mobiles are the key things for cach individual and for
that purpose a charging station of mobiles are nevded ia the open areas.
Accordingly, an idca, solar based mobile charger framework is cxecutcd in the
proposed system which will be utilized as open spot in areas like railway
stations, transport stands, Hospitals, parks. hilly areas, rural arcas and so on. At
bight, in such areas lighting system will be required. Consequently, a thought
for this a street lamp based on solar energy on the same charging station is
cxecuted in the following framework.
Nowadays each & every individuals are using a mobile. The chargers of mobiles can carry
everywhere but it is not necessary that everywhere electricity will be available. During
summer, the shortage of electricity arises and also in rural areas, hilly areas electricity is
not available for charging. To defeat this problem of charging of mobile phones in public
places, tourist places &especially in rural areas and hilly areas this system is proposed. Also
nowadays there are no such installations are available at the public charging station at a
public places and in un-electrified areas is essential. Solar based multi mobile phone
chargers is new business milepost because many people attending business conventions
and forgetting their charger at home. Students and other people also use the public
transportation system which can also require the chargers for their mobile phones. During
evening and night time, lighting system is necded. For such a case, installation of LED lamp
on the same charging station will provide the light. Both the Smobile chargers and LED
lamp will be working on solar energy only. In the evening and night, for the lighting and
charging the mobiles are used which are Shopping malls, Universities, Tourist places, Golf
clubs, Colleges, Airports,Railway stations, Bus-stands and Public areas so that the mobile
phone users can charge their mobile phonesby simply plugging into charging USB ports.

A. Solar panel:
Solar panels are flat and rectangular in shape, made from multiple
interconnected solar module. This photovoltaic cells are composes from
silicon material. When sunrays incident on solar cells, the photons carrics by
sunlight knock electrons of the silicon wafer. A solar cell consists of two layers
- positive and negative that has been allow to flow of electricity. When many
photovoltaic cells are connected together, solar panel is formed. Each
photovoltaic cell produces some clectricity and therefore many module in the
panel are combining to make a electric current and voltage output. {1 ][2][3]
In this framework, polycrystalline solar panel is used. Polycrystalline cell have
many crystal structure. They can be built into rectangular or square shaped
panels for packing with Icast spacing between them, which would result in
power rating per unit area that are similar or higher than the mono-
crystalline solar panel. [4]
B. Solar Rechargeable Batterv:
Solar battery refers to rechargeable batteries
which are designed especially for use in PV systems.
They are especially used for off grid systems for storing
of energy which is produced by the panels. The battery
type used in this system is lead-acid battery. 1 is used
for its low price per unit stored energy, low
maintenance. the low self-discharge and for good
efficiency of about 80%.
C.Charge Controller
A charge controller is an essential part of all power system that
charge batteries, whether the power source is solar, wind, fucl, or
grid. Its purpose is to keep the batteries properly fed and safe for
the long time. A charge controller blocks the reverse current which
is flowing during the night time and prevents the battery.
Solar charge controllers are doing main two functions in solar panel
system: it mainly controlling the charging of batterics. It prevents
the battery from overcharging and deep discharging according to
the energy storage available in battery. Solar charge controllers are
specified by both amperage and voltage.
D. Voltage regulator 7805:
Voltage regulator IC's are nothing but the IC's used to regulate voltage.
IC 7805 is used to limit the voltage upto 5V and can supply the 5V
power. It also performs the purpose of the Heat-Sink. The maximum
amount of input voltage we can apply is 35V.It can Supply the constant
5V power supply up to threshold voltage of 35V. If the voltage range is
near to 7.5V. It does not require the provision of Heat-Sink and does not
produce thermal effects. If the input voltage is more than required then
excess power is released in the form of heat from IC 7805.
Description of IC 7805 with 3 pins and their functions.
Pin1:-Input -Takes The Input Voltage.
Pin2:- Output- Provides- +5V.
Pin3:- Ground- General Ground.

Implementation of System

Photovoltaic panels are used for converting the sunlight into electricity.
When sunlight incident on the panel, sufficient number of photons from
sunlight get absorbed by the PV panel. Then photon excites some loose
electrons in the panel. In this way the positive and negative regions are
created from which electricity is obtained.
The energy generated by PV panel is used for charging the battery which
is connected in the system. Sometimes the output from the panel is high
and sometimes it is very low. If batteries are fully charged, then the
supply from panels should be cut-off and if
batteries are not charged at the rated level, supply to load should be cut-
off. For these problems, charge controller is used to control the charging
of battery and prevent it from over charging and deep discharging.
Two connections are taken out from the battery to the LED lamp and second
are to mobile chargers. Mobile chargers averagely required the 5v supply, but
battery output voltage is high which are given to the mobiles. Forconverting
the high voltage supply to 5v, IC 7805 voltage regulator is used, which gives the
required output voltage to mobile chargers. By use of voltage regulator we can
apply rated battery voltage to mobile phones so that they give good
performance.
Lighting will be required during the evening and night time i.e. for dusk to
dawn. Therefore, for automatic switching ON/OFF of LED lamp LDR sensor is
used, which senses the light intensity and accordingly resistance increases and
decreases. Consequently, LED lamp connected to the LDR circuit operated
automatically when light intensity gets changed. Hence we get the mobile
charging station with the lighting system even in the dark which is completely
based on solar energy.

Calculations

Calculations:
1. Daily Energy Used
Watt-hour = power in watt*hour used
1). Mobile chargers* 5 = 10 watt*8 hours =80 W-hr
2). Lamp*1 = 12 watt *12 hours =144 W-hr
Total power = 224 W-hr.
2. Battery Bank Capacity
Amps hour = watts hour / voltage
224 W-hr /12V = 18.66*2 =37.33 A-hr ~40 A-hr,12 V
3. Solar panel
Total panel wattage= (Total watt-hrs / 5 hrs of suntight)/0.8
(80%=efficiency of the system) (224W-hr / 0.8)= 56 watt ~60 watt
4. Charge controller
Max peak current of panel + imp * 25 % margin

V. CONCLUSION
From this system it is conclude that this whole
system based on solar energy is effectively used for
charging of mobile phones having low cost. This system
can be used at any public place, tourist place and also
in un-electrified areas. This system can be more useful
in rural areas which are suffered because of electricity
problems.
