Categorically stated research areas

•The study of artist village is divided into two parts. The first part includes the arbitrary data collection of
history, theory, literature studies, reports on the subject, planning regulations and so on. The online
resources can be sufficient to gather data from relevant websites, interviews, journals, magazines,
articles, blogs, etc.
•The other part includes the intense study of all the art and crafts, the situation and scope of the
particular artist community, type and environment of the craft, current scenario and even the scope and
demands of improvements.
•For this research, personal approach to the subject is required, therefore one-to-one interviews,
analysis and inspection to the rural sites is required.
•Ethnographic and Undergo Oral History.
•Case studies, Journals and Magazines.
•Observation and Personal Interview.
•Live-events, Questionnaires and Surveys.
•Documentation and Records.

•Creating an informal atmosphere to the project.
•Temporary and permanent residence for the artist community.
•The connection of the rural artisan to urban consumer can be established by designing the retail outlet,
where the need of both can be satisfied.

•Economic Opportunities:
The craft sector is likely to provide employment with stable income to the skilled artisans. Migration of
these rural communities to urban centers can be controlled as by promoting their skills and productions.
•Environmental Benefits:
Manufacturing processes used in crafts have significantly less carbon emission, encouraging the
vernacular materials as well as organic materials where possible.
•Social Empowerment:
Crafts production also opens the gate for Women's empowerment. Art education can improve the
academic standard of future generations. There is a crucial necessity for philanthropy to understand the
monetary potential of the crafts sector by financing in high impact scalable models that can strengthen

3. GAUSHALA – Gondal
Introduction
•Gaushalas or Goshalas are protective shelters for cows in India. Goshalas focus on treating cows well, because of their
religious significance in Hinduism and consequent cultural sensitivity towards their welfare.
•Goshala, a Sanskrit word, means the abode or sanctuary for cows, calves and oxen.
•In Vedic tradition, cows are worshipped as mothers. According to scriptures, there are seven mothers: atma-mata (one's
own mother), guroh patni (the wife of one's teacher), brahmani (the wife of a brahmana), raja-patnika (the wife of the
king), dhenu (the cow), dhatri (the nurse) and prthvi (the Earth) are all considered mothers. Just as the child feeds on the
breast milk of the mother, human society takes milk from the cow.
•To prevent unproductive cows being sent to the abattoir, the government started the Rashtriya Gokul Mission in mid-
2014, a national program that involves constructing havens for retired cows. Proceeds from the animals’ bodily waste are
intended to pay for their upkeep. In May 2016 the Indian national government held an inaugural national conference on
goshalas.

Aim
•To create a place for cows are protected, given shelter, and also a place where products are made from cows waste.
• To conduct training camps and programmers in rural areas to help the rural poor understand the ways and means of
maintaining their bovine animals properly, protecting them from diseases and for improving the milk yield cows and the
performance of their draught animals.
•To conduct veterinary health camps in town to treat the bovine cattle suffering from diseases; and extend medical and
surgical treatment to the sick animals, free of cost and to vaccinate the bovine cattle against common contagious
diseases such as Foot and Mouth disease.
•The human society should recognize the importance of the cow and the bull and thus give all protection to these
important animals.

Objectives

• To establish and maintain Goshalas for preserving cows, calves, bovine animals which would prevent slaughter of cows,
and bovine cattle.
• To receive and maintain the bovine animals offered by the public
• Help them improve their economic condition by creating an opportunity to have subsidiary income through dairy
activity or agricultural operations carried out with draught cattle so distributed.
•To maintain them by providing good environment, management, feeding. etc., as a part of Gosamrakshana (or) Cow
Protection.
• The dung obtained from Goshala is being used as compost manure or bio-technical manure so that the organic food
grains, fruits, vegetables, milk can be obtained.
• The cows and bulls live peacefully during the full duration of their lives.
• One who is desirous of killing the cow is in the grossest ignorance. Instead of killing the cow and eating flesh, civilized
men must subsist on various milk products and agricultural products.
• Promoters Motives of Goshala
• One who is desirous of killing the cow is in the grossest ignorance. Instead of killing the cow and eating flesh, civilized
men must subsist on various milk products and agricultural products.
• In most Gaushalas, the animals are kept very poorly. They stand in the open during rain, hot sun or cold. There is
usually overcrowding and the animals cannot move freely. The food is either inadequate or placed in such a way that only
the dominant/aggressive animals get it. It is usually the cheapest dry hay. The water trough is badly placed.
Sewage/drainage systems do not exist and the animals stand in their own faeces, which to us is “useful gobar”, but to
them is simply the discard of their bodies. Their feet become infected, they cannot sit or stand and they die quickly from
decreased immunity and increased infection.

Need of this project.
•In gondal there is a place for gushala, but it is not proper. No shelter for cows, only open ground is provided.
•This project is needed to prevent the cows, bovine cows, and provide good environment.
•Most Gaushalas do not even have a veterinarian or a surgical unit. If an animal falls down, it stays down till it dies. The
unqualified staff have no idea of how to even diagnose the problem. A Gaushala may have a mandir in it venerating the
cow, but it rarely has a sickbay in which the animal is treated.

Scope and limitation

•The study is limited to design gaushala, a center where products and medicne made from cow waste. Veterinary hospital
