Webinar On The Preparation of Melc-Based Lesson Exemplars and Learning Activity Sheets

The webinar discussed the preparation of MELC-based lesson exemplars and learning activity sheets. The division's goal is to have exemplars and sheets for 100% of MELC competencies by the end of July 2020. Participants learned about the required parts of exemplars and sheets, including objectives, procedures, evaluations and enrichment activities. They were also given a menu of strategies to choose from to develop the materials. Proper formatting and ensuring activities are suited for different learner levels were emphasized.

100 % of the competencies in the MELC shall have


lesson exemplars and learning activity sheets before the
end of July 2020

At the end of the session,
the participants are expected to:
- Gain understanding on the content of lesson exemplars
and learning activity sheets
- Select appropriate strategies out of the menu provided
to be used in preparing lesson exemplars
- Show appreciation on the efforts of upskilling and
reskilling teachers

1. Pre Test
• determine learner's baseline knowledge or
preparedness of the specific competency
• multiple choice test is encouraged
• observe 60,30,10- different levels of thinking

• presentation of the lesson
• allows learners to gain valuable information about the
lesson
• Teacher introduces/presents the topic, and provides concept
or ideas about the lesson
• It can be done but not limited to a Question and Answer,
paragraph form, graphic organizers, comic strips
• Examples should be provided for better understanding

3. Guided Activity
• first activity after the mini-lesson
• activity should be similar to the examples provided in

the mini-lesson
• this is a practice activity with the guidance of the teacher
• some of the questions in this activity sheet have already answers

• asks students to work with little to no assistance


• ensures that learners will have a chance to
reinforce skills and synthesize their newly
acquired knowledge by completing a task on their

 A lesson exemplar should have objective, subject matter,
procedure, evaluation and assignment or enrichment to
include content and performance standards

 Body should have at least seven parts

 Guided/Practice , Independent Practice,


Independent Assessment, Evaluation and Enrichment
should be culled out from the lesson exemplar

 Mini Lesson- creative presentation of the lesson
There should be activities for slow average and fast
Convert your activities to offline and online

 If the competency is good for five days


then there should be at least 35 activites for the week

 Lesson exemplar should be prepared first before working on


the Learning Activity Sheets
 If there is only one competency for the week, it should be
unpacked
 Quality Assurance Team be spearheaded by the EPS/Div Coor
 All quality assured materials be submitted not later
than the second week of July
