GSM BSC Hardware Structure (AMCM)

This document provides an overview of the hardware structure and functional structure of an AM/CM (Administration and Communication Module) in a GSM BSC (Base Station Controller) system. The AM/CM combines 8 BMs (Baseband Modules) to provide a GSM BSS (Base Station Subsystem) with 1024 TRXs (Transceiver Modules). Key components of the AM/CM include a communication control unit, central switching network, transmission interface unit, clock synchronization system and alarm system. It communicates with external modules using various protocols like HDLC.
