 When we say
someone has
creativity, it
usually means that
he or she is also a
good critical and
creative thinker.
 This topic deals
with creativity as a
product of critical &
creative thinking.
What is Creativity?

 It is the ABILITY
to imagine or
invent something
new by combining,
changing, or
reapplying existing
ideas.

because it involves
the ability to
accept change &
newness, a
willingness to play
with ideas &
possibilities, a
flexibility of
outlook &
eagerness for
improvement.

& solutions by making
gradual alterations &
refinements.
Creativity does not
usually appear as a
single stroke of
brilliance. It requires
much time, effort &

 EVOLUTION: New ideas evolve from
older ideas, new solutions emerge
from previous solutions, with the new
ones slightly or significantly improved
over the old ones.
 REVOLUTION: A new idea that is
completely different from an original
idea & that ends up in getting great
results.

 SYNTHESIS: This involves combining


two or more ideas to produce
something that is better, more
practical & more convenient.
 REAPPLICATION: This involves
looking at old things with renewed
interest & with the aim of benefiting
from the old item in a markedly
different way.

 CHANGING DIRECTION: Many


creative breakthroughs occur when
attention is shifted from one angle of
a problem to another. When
attempting to solve a problem, if one
solution does not work, shift to
another. There is no commitment to
a particular path, only to a particular
goal.

 Oh No, another
problem!
 It can’t be done!
 There’s nothing I
can do.
 I’m not creative,
I’m just an
ordinary person.
 What will people
think?

Critical Thinking is good for

 When a person is a
critical thinker, he
has a questioning
attitude.
 He has good
analytical skills.
 He can distinguish
between what is
good & what is not.

collection of skills we
use every day that are
necessary for our full
intellectual & personal
development.
 Critical Thinking
involves providing
logical support for our
beliefs & opinions.
 All of that helps us in

creativity.
