EDUCATION AS CONSERVATIVE
AND CREATIVE FORCE
Definition of Education
• Education is the wise, hopeful and respectful cultivation of learning
undertaken in the belief that all should have the chance to share in
life.
• Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of
knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. It is living through,
a continuous reconstruction of experiences.
• Mark K Smith explores the meaning of education and suggests it is a
process of inviting truth and possibility.
• Education is a system; teaching is an action; learning is a process.
• As such, education requires a self-aware and self-correcting set of
processes that respond to changes circumstances at every level culture,
literacy, curriculum, assessment, instruction, and so on. When bullying
becomes a pastime. When kids can access libraries on their
smartphones.
• When technology affords access to digital communities that can make
all the difference. Where are education’s correcting factors? New
standards and standardized test forms every decade? Pay-for-test-
performance?
• Education is in the habit of changing for political and imagery and
spectacle when it should inherently bleach politics altogether.
• Human nature is multisided with multiple needs, which are related to
life. Educational aims are correlated to ideals of life.
Importance and functions of education
• Development of natural abilities
• Prepetualizing eternal values
• Character building
• Preparation of adult life
• Development of personality
• Control and basic instinct
• Development of sense of community
• Encouragement to social welfare
• Creation of useful citizens
EDUCATION AS CONSERVATIVE FORCE
• This is basically the conservative function of passing on the main patterns of life of the society
through schools. Thus education may be an agent for promoting better understanding of societal
traditions and for the development of local culture in the forms of art, music and literature.
• Again education is generally dependent on what aspects of progress the conservative is
“conserving” or “reacting” towards the mindsets of people.
• As conservatism completely relies on focusing on denying what can be considered progressive or
liberal attitudes, can’t really say what would be considered the de-facto conservative educational
points.
EDUCATION , A CREATIVE FORCE
• IT CAN LIQUIDATE ILLITERACY
• IT CAN REMOVE SOCIAL BARRIERS
• IT CAN OVERCOME CULTURAL LAGS
• IT CAN ACT AS MEAN OF SOCIAL RECONSTRUCTION
• IT CAN STRENGTHEN DEMOCRATIC FORCES
• IT CAN CREATE LEADERS
EDUCATION AS CONSERVATIVE FORCE
• A Conservative view of education looks like this:
• Parents choose where their kids attend, which forces schools to improve. Those that don’t
improve are closed. New schools open to attract new students.
• The local government controls the school instead of the Federal.
• School doesn’t push a liberal agenda. Kids are given the facts, and allowed to determine their
own opinion. They are taught to debate and defend their ideas with facts, instead of emotions
and insults and simply regurgitating talking points. They are taught that life is hard, they need
to work hard to succeed, and that not all ideas, cultures, and efforts are equal.
• They are taught the true history of our country, it’s founding, and it’s development. They
learn it’s faults, but also all of the wonderful things that we have accomplished.
• A conservative view of education and character formation holds that there are no "value-
free" schools, but there are "good" and "bad" values intrinsically embedded in our
institutions
EDUCATION AS CONSERVATIVE FORCE
• Points of Conservative views:
• Religion and cultural beliefs
• social gender
• conservative thoughts and traditional social values
Where as, education is generally dependent on what aspects of progress the conservative is “conserving”
or “reacting” to . Good character education is comprised of three elements: example, study, and practice.
Schools serving a heterogeneous population are properly nonsectarian. However, religion cannot be
ignored in the context of education and values.
EDUCATION AS CREATIVE FORCE
Education and creativity are interlinked because of their origin from the common sources like
nature history and inner self
Creative education is when students are able to use imagination and critical thinking to create
new and meaningful forms of ideas where they can take risks, be independent and flexible.
Creativity is directly linked to intelligence and interest of one and it facilitates learning.
CREATIVITY
• Utilize idea creation techniques
• Incorporate dreams , visions and ideas
• Entertain new and diverse prespectives
• Realize practical limitations understand that creativity is an iterative process that consists of
success and faliures
IMPORTANCE
There is need of more critical thinkers in every subject to be able to solve
complex problems and to progress and create variaties in every field .
Creativity and innovation are teaching students to solve problems and
designing new ideas as it is set of teachable skills and improvement in
student achievement
DIFFERENT METHODS
• CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING:
• THE CPS METHOD IS A MORE EXPLICIT FORM OF CULTIVATING CREATIVITY AND USES
DIVERGENT AND CONVERGENT THINKING SKILLS.
• THE TORRANCE INCUBATION MODEL
• THIS MODEL WAS CREATED TO ALLOW INSTRUCTORS TO INTEGRATE CREATIVITY INTO
THEIR LESSONS WITHOUT AFFECTING THE SUBJECT MATERIAL.
• TORRANCE IS MADE UP OF THREE STAGES:
• 1) HEIGHTEN ANTICIPATION
• 2) DEEPEN EXPECTATIONS
• 3) EXTEND THE LEARNING.
DESIGN EDUCATION
Creative education is sometimes called design education explains the process of creatively solving
problems in all fields of life. Though this is very similar, creative education focuses on how classes
are taught to oppress or encourage creativity.
But that may be confused with education pertaining to the design industry like Architecture,
graphic design, interior design, etc.
