India's first teleoncology network, called ONCONET, was established in 2003 and connects regional cancer centers to peripheral clinics via satellite connectivity. It provides online access to cancer statistics and an oncology resource center. Recent advances include mobile teleoncology units that can provide cancer services in remote areas.
