 As we all know that Time & Tide
wait for no one. We should
understand the importance of
time and learn the art of Time
Management.
Importance of Time & Time
Management :-
 In Modern age, we have to carry
out or perform many important
activities in available time.

Hence, it becomes very


necessary to Manage your time
wisely. And the art or techniques
to manage time effectively is
known as “Time Management”.
Time is Limited.
 We need to stop wishing for
more time & start learning how
to make effective utilization of
available time.

 Example:- All the great &


successful persons have the
same time as we get.
Where does the Day go?
 Normally we all spend our day as
follows:-
 1) Sleeping :- 8 hrs.
 2) Working :- 8 hrs.
 3) Eating :- 2 hrs.
 4) Communication :- 2 hrs.
 5) P.Hygine:- 1 hrs.

That leaves about 3hrs for other things


that make life worth living.
 But, wait a minute, let’s extend this
to a week, since we don’t work on 2nd
& 4th Sat.& regular Sunday’s, we
have extra 20 hrs + the usual 3 hrs.
to enrich our day.

That’s sound little better, doesn’t it ?

These fig. also ignores illness, which


will average 5 hrs a week over our
lifetime. And, of course, there is time
spent watching TV, which averages
over 26 hrs weekly.
Managing TIME efficiently.

 A Few thoughts to start with –

 Don’t settle for less out of life than you


should.

 Don’t settle for lower aim.

 Your standard of living is directly related to


your ability to manage time.
Learn -

 The value of time.

 How to control it.

 How to manage your time and


the time of others.
And understand that -

 You are not paid by the hour


The week
The month
The year

You are paid by your achievements


and accomplishments.
 To identify & set priority is the
most important skill and is
known as,
“TIME MANAGEMENT”.

Do important jobs before they


become urgent because,
‘Procrastination’ is the thief of
time.
The habit of putting off imp. tasks
can rob you off your hours of
achievements and success.

 3)Remember Parkinson’s Law ‘Work
expands to fit available time & still get the
job done’.
 4) Analyze the quality of your calls. Spend
your time on activities that are likely to give
the best results. Eliminates obvious time
wasters.

 5) Write out a priority list and stick to it.


Don’t do low priority jobs until all the high
priority once have been completed.

 6) Speak to avoid time pressure.

 7) Keep quality time for family.
