system. It provides a graphics-

industrial control and monitoring

Introduction
The user interface, in the industrial
design field of human – machine
interaction, is the space where
interactions between humans and
machines occur.
Introduction
PLCs may need to interact with people for the purpose of
configuration, alarm reporting or everyday control. A human
machine interface (HMI) is employed for this purpose.

HMIs are also referred to as man-machine interfaces (MMIs)


and graphical user interface (GUIs). A simple system may use
buttons and lights to interact with the user. Text displays are
available as well as graphical touch screens.
Introduction
Generally, the goal of user interface design is to produce a user
interface which makes it easy (self explanatory), efficient, and
enjoyable (user friendly) to operate a machine in the way which
produces the desired result. This generally means that the
operator needs to provide minimal input to achieve the desired
output, and also that the machine minimizes undesired outputs to
the human.
Overview
The user interface or human–
machine interface is the part of the
machine that handles the human–
machine interaction. Membrane
switches, rubber keypads and
touchscreens are examples of the
physical part of the Human Machine
Interface which we can see and touch.
Overview
In complex systems, the human–machine interface is typically
computerized. The term human–computer interface refers to this
kind of system. In the context of computing the term typically
extends as well to the software dedicated to control the physical
elements used for human-computer interaction.
Interface Design
Primary methods used in the interface design include
prototyping and simulation.

Typical human–machine interface design consists of the


following stages: interaction specification, interface software
specification and prototyping:

• Common practices for interaction specification include user-
centered design, persona, activity-oriented design, scenario-
based design, resiliency design.
• Common practices for interface software specification include
use cases, constrain enforcement by interaction protocols.
• Common practices for prototyping are based on interactive
design based on libraries of interface elements (controls,
decoration, etc.).

All great interfaces share eight qualities or characteristics

sluggish. This means that the
interface should provide
good feedback to the user
about what’s happening and
whether the user’s input is
being successfully processed.

your application is important
because it allows users to

attractive for it to do its job,

It also pre-installed embedded real-time multi-task
Microsoft operating system-WinCE.NET (Chinese version) and
MCGS embedded configuration software (running version).
MCGS embedded configuration software is developed by
Kunluntongtai Company and adopted in MCGS TPC series
human machine interface devices. It can mainly complete local
data collection, monitoring, frontier data processing and control.
Getting to know MCGS embedded
configuration software

Combining with other related hardware, MCGS embedded


configuration software is capable of quickly and easily
developing devices for field acquisition, data processing and
control devices (equipment). It can configure a variety of special
devices such as: intelligent instruments, data acquisition
module, paperless recorder, non-attendant field gathering
station and human-machine interface.
Main Functions of MCGS embedded configuration
software

① Simple and flexible visual operating interface.

② It is a real 32-bit system with real-time and better parallel processing properties
and parallel processing tasks in the unit of line stroke.

③ Plentiful and vivid media images: providing the operators relevant information
in the way of images, icons, report forms, curves and so on.
