• pedestrian crossing= a place in the road where pedestrians can cross,
• tunnel= a road under the mountains,
• crossroads=where two roads cross each other,
• junction=where one road meets another,
• fork in the road= where the road divides ,
• turning=a road off to your left or right,
• main road= a big road where there is lots of traffic,
• lane= a small road, or part of a road,( the left –hand lane, the bus lane),

ride. Keep going for about 100 meters/200 meters half mile. It will be……………. On your left/
on your right/ straight ahead of you. Take the first road on the left/ take the second road on
the right and you will see the shop on the left. Go straight on till you see the hospital then
turn left .The hospital is opposite the railway station. Cross the junction and keep going for
about a mile.

house from your school.
• Write the directions to go to the principal's office from your classroom.
• How can one reach to the nearest hospital from your school? Give directions.
• One of your friends has called you on phone to visit your school .Give him or her directions
to show the way to reach your school on foot from the nearest bus park.
