To create map files

Start Google Earth Pro
You will get the following window

Search for UOH
and Click the result

Data Windows will pop up

Historical Sky,

point polygon

To add a new polygon click here

Name the polygon University of Hargeisa
To change the color, font and width and opacity (20%)

Do the same for all
the buildings in the
university
To add a new point click here

Do the same for all
the Trees in the
university
To add a new Line click here

Do the same for all
the Roads in the
university
You will have this map at the end
To save the map right click the university of
Hargeisa then click save place as
Name the New file as “UOH”. Make sure
you stored it in the Folder “PROJECT”
and the data type is “KML”. Conclude by
saving the file with “Save”.

To open ArcToolbox click geoprocessing
and then choose ArcToolbox

Click KML To Layer In the
Conversion tools
Click here too choose the source
of the kml file
Now to Save in your database right click the points layer and click
data then export data
Navigate to the appropriate folder to save the
shape file you intend to create
In the Appropriate folder (1), Type the
Name of the shape file to be created (2), set
save as type as Shapefile (3) and save (4)

Now you can remove the points
in the gdp format
When the save as windows appears, make sure that
your file will be save in the working folder “03 Maps”.
Then in File name type “World01” and end task.

World01

Do the same for the
polylines and polygons and
name them roads and
buildings respectively

To add base map to your map
click add basmap
Add the basemap of your choice
and click add
