What kind of Idiot are you?

Introduction
 The movie ‘3 idiots’ by Vidhu Vinod Chopra is a
well loved and inspiring movie.
 But have you given a thought at the types of
idiots you have seen in the movie?
 Do these idiots remind you of people you
encounter in your everyday life?
 Everyone is a type of idiot- from Businessmen,
employees, students to - politicians, corrupt
officials or the common man.
 Find out which type of idiot you are, or your
colleagues or friends are.
1st Idiot. Sharman Joshi
 He comes from the lower middle
class.
 Has seen hardships in life and wants
to work extremely hard to achieve
success.
 Believes in worshipping more and
studying less.
 Lacks self confidence.
 Easily influenced by others.
 Depressed by any, slightly tensed
situation.
Are you the 1st Idiot?
 Manage your emotions
 Listen to others but use your own intelligence to make your

decisions
 Analyse situations and then take further steps, try not to get

hyper over small matters


 Try and have faith in

yourself first, only then you


can gain some confidence
2nd Idiot. R. Madhavan
 Such people have confidence but
are prone to family and peer pressures
 They feel like doing what they

want, but family and societal pressures force them to


follow the rat race
 Creative and intelligent

 Fear going against their family

 Do not want to hurt others for their own benefit

 Need an idol in life


Are you the 2nd idiot?
 Talk about your fears and
feelings with the person you trust
most
 Go ahead with where your passion lies as you are

definitely going to succeed in doing something you


love rather than doing something you hate
 Trust your instincts

 Show your talent and creativity to the world instead

of shying away from it


3rd Idiot. Amir Khan
 Willingness to learn and love challenges
 Always think out of the box

 Love going against the norm

and always end up doing


something creative and original
 End up becoming successful

 Humble and down to earth

 Easily influence others

 Never hold grudges

against anyone

 Control your energy, people might
take it otherwise
 Think before you speak as
sometimes you tend to speak your
mind very openly in situations
that don’t demand
 A good motivator, give the
society what you have gained
from it
 Do not let any situation bring you

and traditions
 Think that the path to success is what they have followed

and nothing else


 Rigid, No sense of humour

 Can go to any means to prove themselves right

 Do not want to listen or do anything new, creative or

original
 Have a likeness for people who follow these idiots but

dislike them who deviate

 Times are changing, so adapt
change in your life and change for
good
 Look at people for who they really are, not for how

much they have achieved in life


 Try and adopt newness in life

 Smile often; look at the lighter side of life

 You can be wrong sometimes; accept your mistakes


5th Idiot. Silencer
 Always trying to
please the boss
 No original thinking, follow the set rules

 Rote memorization is the key to success for them

 Learning without understanding

 Focus is only to get a degree with cramming and

then a good job


 Always underestimating others who are better

 Knowledge and learning can never happen if you don’t
apply your brains and exercise them into thinking
 Do you want to be only well educated or well trained as

well? Choice is yours


 There is and will always be someone better than you,

learn from them


 Explore the horizons

rather than living in a

 They have power and money, usually what their


forefathers have earned
 They believe money and power can buy anything,
even degrees
 Undeserving and incapable of any work
 Do not make any efforts to achieve success
Are you the 6th idiot?
 Money and power may buy you degrees but will not
give you success or intelligence
 Try and work hard towards achieving something and
see the difference it makes in your life
 Incapable of thinking- you are rusting your brains
 You won’t leave the world along with your money but
you can leave your
deeds behind
7th Idiot. Father of Ranchod Das
 Owners of power and money
 Ignore their children
 Make their children believe that they are special
and need not work to achieve anything
 Can go to any means to buy their child’s happiness
 Not ashamed of their wrong doings
Are you the 7th Idiot?
 Your children need to see life and its challenges
 Encourage them to work for themselves
 Money can buy everything, but not intelligence and
knowledge
 Think before taking wrong steps; what are you
imparting to your future
generations?
Conclusion
 There is a genius, a creator in every human being
 The need is to realise your potential
 The need is to see where and what you might be doing
wrong and take corrective measures
 Only you can bring out the true potential in yourself
