Chart
A Microsoft Excel Chart is a graphical representation
of data.
The chart data, called the data source, is stored in
a range of cells in the worksheet.
A data series is a group of related information in a
column or row of a worksheet that is plotted on the
chart.
An embedded chart is a chart inserted in the
center of the worksheet. You can move an
embedded chart to a chart sheet, which is a
separate sheet in a workbook that stores a chart.

After you have created your chart, the Ribbon


displays the Chart Tools contextual tab that will
help you to format a chart, these are:

Chart Tools Design tab – used to design and


modify a chart

Chart Tools Layout tab – used to layout the chart

Chart Tools Format tab – used to format a chart

Save As Template Saves the formatting and layout of the chart

Switch Row/Column Swaps the data over the axis

Select Data Changes the data range included in the chart

Chart Layouts Displays the different pre-designed chart layouts
