DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF MULTITASKING CUTTING MACHINE
INTRODUCTION:-
multitasking cutting machine is a machine that is made especially for the small
scale industries where labours working are have very little technology.
This is a machine that performs the work quickly and efficiently without the
hassle of using different machines for performing different cutting operations
on the workpiece.
Every industry desires to make high productive rate maintain the quality and
standard of the product at low average cost, in ana industry consideration
portion of investment is being made for machinery installation. So in this
project we are working on a machine which can perform various operations
simultaneously and it helps to save the man power and helps to increase
production rate.

SCOTCH YOKE MECHANISM
The scotch yoke is a reciprocating motion mechanism,
converting the linear motion of a slider into a rotational motion
or vice-versa. The reciprocating part is directly coupled to a
sliding yoke with slot that engages a pin on the reciprocating
part, the location of the piston versus time is a sine wave of
constant amplitude, and constant frequency given a constant
rotational speed.
BEVEL GEARS
A bevel gear is shaped like a right circular cone with most of its
tip cut off. When two bevel gear mesh, their imaginary vertices
must occupy the same point. Their shaft axes also intersect at
this point, forming an arbitrary non-straight angle between the
shafts. The angle between the shaft can be anything except zero
or 180 degrees.

METHODOLOGY
In this project we generally give power supply to the shaft on which a bevel gear
is mounted on it and a second bevel gear at a right angle to it has been mounted
on a drill shaft to which a drill bit is being attached. At one end of the shaft is
connected to power supply other end is being joined to a circular disc, through
this disc scotch yoke mechanism is being performed (rotator y motion is
converted into reciprocating motion). Also between in these two a helical gear is
mounted which transfer its motion to other helical gears which is mounted on a
shaft consisting of a grinding wheel.
EXPERIMENTAL SETUP-
In this conceptual model we have involved the gear arrangement for power
transmission at different working centres basically gear and cogwheel is a
rotating machine part having cut teeth or cogs, which mesh with another toothed
part in order to transmit torque, in most cases with teeth on the one gear being of
identical shape and often also with that shape on the other gear.
Two or more gears working In tandem are called a transmission and can produce a
mechanical advantage through a gear ratio and thus may be considered as a
simple machine.
