Acquiring Grammatical Competence

This document discusses grammatical competence and how it is acquired. It defines grammar as the set of rules governing a language's composition. Grammatical competence refers to the implicit knowledge that allows people to produce grammatically correct sentences. It is an important part of foreign language learning, especially for improving speaking skills. While grammar is important, communicative language teaching needs to balance form and meaning. Grammatical competence can be developed through regular practice using written texts and practical writing exercises.
