Advertising
Advertising presents several
ethical issues.
Deceptive advertisements
Are those that makes false statements about
or misrepresent the product.
Not only through sentences but also through
pictures which can deceive the eye and the mind.
Article 108 of the consumer act of
the Philippines (republic act no.
7394) “the state shall protect the consumer from misleading
advertisements and fraudulent sales promotion practices.”

Article 110 it shall be unlawful for any person to disseminate


the false within the misleading advertisements, because it is based on the
experience of a consumer.

Ethical Issues
 The labor code of the Philippines (presidential decree no.
442) lays down the rights of workers in relation to wages,
rights to self-organization, collective bargaining, security
or tenure.
 Republic act no. 6727 (wage rationalization act) mandates
the fixing of the minimum wage applicable to different
industrial sectors.
 Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards
(RTWPBs) authorized to determine the daily minimum
wage rates in the different regions.
 Book four of Labor Code of the Philippines
lays down the “Health, Safety, and Social
Welfare Benefits”
 Bookfive “Labor relations” which lays
down to the policies of the State with
regard to labor.
Insider Trading
 The illegal activity of buying and selling a
company’s stocks while using secret
information from a person for the company.
 Isthe trading of the public company’s stock
or other securities by individuals with
access to nonpublic information is illegal.
Pollution and Resource
Depletion
 Is the consumption of a resource faster than it
can be replenished. Natural resources are
commonly divided between renewable resources
and non-renewable resources.
 It is commonly used in reference to farming,
fishing, mining, water usage and consumption of
fossil fuels.
Whistle Blowing
 Isthe act of drawing public attention, to
perceived wrongdoing, misconduct,
unethical activity within public, private or
third sector organizations.
 Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 is the
basis of legal protection of whistle blowers
