deals with the skills, knowledge and attitude of a
Computer Systems Service Technician, in accordance
with industry standards.

COC 1: Install and Configure Computer Systems


* Computer Assembly (30 min.)
* Create a Bootable OS (15 min.)

Note: If you fail to power on the Computer, you cannot


proceed to the next competency and you will be
evaluated as Not Yet Competent (NYC) and subject for
re-assessment.

COC 2: Set-up Computer Networks


* Cabling & Splicing of Cables (30 min.)
* Set-up Router and P2P network (15 min.)

Note: If you fail in cabling/splicing, you cannot proceed


to the next competency and you will be evaluated as
Not Yet Competent (NYC) and subject for re-
assessment.

COC 3: Set-up Computer Servers


* Server Installation & Configuration (45 min.)
- Installation of Active Directory, DNS Server,
DHCP Server & File Services
- File/Printer sharing, Map Drive & Remote Desktop

Note: If you fail in server installation and configuration, you will


be evaluated as Not Yet Competent (NYC) and subject for re-
assessment.

COC 4: Maintain and repair computer systems and


networks
* Interview / Oral Questioning

Note: If you pass the three (3) competencies, the assessor will
asked you follow-up questions for you to pass the full assessment
and have your National Certificate (NC) II for CSS competency.
