Community Diagnosis - Strategy

This document outlines the steps for conducting a community diagnosis. It defines community diagnosis as identifying community health problems and their contributing factors. There are two main strategies - using questionnaires or focus groups to collect primary data, or reviewing existing health records for secondary data. Key steps include dividing into groups, identifying a community, designing diagnostic tools, assessing health problems, collecting and analyzing data, and writing a report. The report should describe the community, identified health problems and environmental/health system factors, and provide conclusions and recommendations. Various tools are reviewed for disease identification, environmental health inspection, and assessing the community and school health systems. Skills in questioning, observation, records review, and data analysis are needed.
