• Single phase half wave rectifier.

• Single phase mid-point rectifier.
• Single phase bridge type full wave rectifier.
• R triggering circuit for thyristor.
• RC triggering circuit for thyristor.
• UJT triggering circuit for thyristor.
• NE555 timer circuit as a pulse generator.
• Power Supply using ICs.
• Buck converter.
• Boost converter.
• Driver circuit.
1-Single phase half wave rectifier.

• A single phase half wave rectifier is single pulse converter.

• It convert AC to DC.
• The single phase half wave rectifier is convert only half cycle of the input AC to DC.

• Vo= (Vm/π);
• Io= (V0/R)
Hardware Circuit:
2-Single phase mid-point rectifier.

• Single phase mid-point rectifier is also known as centertapped full wave rectifier.
• It convert the both cycle of AC input into DC output so it’s also known as double pulse converter.
• It contain two diode, single phase power supply and load.

• Vdc=(2Vm)/π
• FF=IRMS/IAVG
𝑉𝑟𝑚𝑠
• RF= −1
𝑉𝑑𝑐
3-Full wave bridge rectifier.

• A bridge rectifier is convert both positive and negative cycle of the AC into DC as similiar as mid-
point rectifier.
• It has low ripple factor as compared to the single phase half wave rectifier.
• It contain 4 diode ,single phase power supply and load.

• Vo= (2Vm/π);
• Io= (V0/R)
• Form factor= (IRMS/IAVG);
Hardware Circuit:
4-R triggering circuit for thyristor.

• R triggering circuit is turn on the thyristor with the help of resistance and a diode .
• The pulse is apply on the gate terminals of the thyristor.
• The range for apply pulse on the gate terminals of thyristor is 0o to 90o.

Hardware Circuit:
5-RC triggering circuit for thyristor.

• R-C-Diode circuit gives full half-cycle control (180 electrical degrees). On the positive half-cycle
of SCR anode voltage the capacitor charges to the trigger point of the SCR in a time determined by
the RC time constant and the rising anode voltage.
• Firing angle can be varied from 00 to 1700.

Hardware Circuit:
6-UJT triggering circuit for thyristor:

• The UJT is almost ideal as a firing device for SCRs. There are 2 main reasons for the compatibility
between UJTs and SCRs
• FORMULAE:
• VRB1=((RB1)/(RB1+RB2))VBB
• VP=nVBB+VD
• n=(RB1)/(RB1+RB2)

Hardware Circuit:
7-NE555 TIMER CIRCUIT for the pulse generation:

• The 555 has three main operating modes, Monostable, Astable, and Bistable.
• An Astable Circuit has no stable state - hence the name "astable". The output continually switches
state between high and low without without any intervention from the user, called a 'square'
wave.
• A Monostable Circuit produces one pulse of a set length in response to a trigger input such as a
push button.
• A Bistable Mode or what is sometimes called a Schmitt Trigger, has two stable states, high and
low. Taking the Trigger input low makes the output of the circuit go into the high state.

8-DC Power Supply with ICs :_

• The objective of this project is to convert 220V AC supply in to +12V and -12v DC supply, that is
why it is named Dual Power Supply as we get positive and negative 12v power supply at the same
time.

9-Buck Converter:

• A buck converter (step-down converter) is a DC-to-DC power converter.

• which steps down voltage (while stepping up current) from its input (supply) to its
output (load).

Hardware Circuit:

2. Inductor current
10-Boost Converter:

• A boost converter (step-up converter) is a DC-to-DC power converter.

• Which steps up voltage (while stepping down current) from its input (supply) to its output (load).

11-Driver Circuit with TLP250 IC

• Pin number 8 is use to provide power supply to TLP250 and pin number 5 is ground pin which
provides return path to power supply ground. Maximum power supply voltage between 15-30 volt
dc can be given to TLP250.
• Pin number 2 and 3 are anode and cathode points of input stage LED. It works like a normal light
emitting diode..
• Pin number six and seven is internally connected to each other. Output can be taken from either
pin number 6 and 7.
• TLP250 can be used up to 25 kHz frequency due to slow propagation delay.
