Step 1. Open Microsoft excel application
in your computer.

Here are some tips to prepare your data for a
mail merge. Make sure:
Column names in your spreadsheet match the field
names you want to insert in your mail merge. For an
example, to address readers by their first name in
your document. Separate columns for first and last
name.

All data to be merged is present in the first sheet of


your spreadsheet.

Data entries with percentages, currencies, and


postal code are correctly formatted in the
spreadsheet so that word can properly read their
values.

Here are some tips to prepare your data for a
mail merge. Make sure:

The EXCEL spreadsheet to be used in the mail


merge is stored on your local machine.

Changes or additions to your spreadsheet are


completed before it’s connected to your mail merge
document in Word.

Step 2. Create an excel document w/c contain the
following contents the ff. details. Create a header for
the sheet.
• Title
• First name
• Last name
• Address
• City
• Grade
Level
• Section
• Age
• Phone no.
• Email

You need to acquire the information of your 15 classmates record data and
save as “Data.xlsx“.

Step 3. Create a WORD document and select your template.
Save the file as “yourLastName-Mailmerge.docx“. You can
change the template color.
