AUSTRALIA
• Australian English is the country's national and official language as it is the first language of the
majority of the population.

• SPELLING : (US) color, (AU) colour


• (US) organize, (AU) organise
• GRAMMAR: (US) The class are happy
(AU) The class is happy
• The UK and Australia share the same spelling for the words, while the United States decided to
create their own spelling system.

LANGUAGE STANDARDISATION

• STANDARD ENGLISH : The form of the English language widely accepted as the usual
correct form.

• NON STANDARD ENGLISH refers to any dialect of English other than Standard
English and is sometimes referred to as non standard dialect or non-standard variety.
