Data constitute a dominant part of every
business – from banks to manufacturing
firms, government and schools.
Business deal with various important
pieces of information in their operation
and activities.
In data processing, the following are
involved:
1. Sorting - arranging of data into a
given sequence or order.
2. Calculating and Analyzing
Calculating involves basic arithmetic
operations; analyzing is the process
of finding the relationship between
data based on a given alternatives.
3. Summarizing
Summarizing data into class groups,
providing subtotals, totals , grand
totals, etc.
Computer - Based Information System
is the processing and storing of data
using a computer to produce the
desired information.
