Previewing involves looking at titles, subtitles, visuals, and graphs to familiarize oneself with the contents and focus on important information. Skimming looks for the main point and developing ideas by rapidly moving the eyes across the page. Scanning looks for specific information by quickly moving the eyes along lines of text without reading every word to find desired details.
