Basics of QR Code

QR codes are 2D barcodes that can store web addresses, text, and contact information. They were invented in 1994 and can store over 4000 characters of information, more than traditional 1D barcodes. Some common uses of QR codes are for consumer advertising, entertainment, transport ticketing, storing personal information, and augmented reality applications. There are different types of QR codes like micro QR codes for small amounts of data and IQR codes that can store more data due to more rows and columns. Potential risks of QR codes include criminals accessing personal information like calendars and credit cards, stealing passwords, tracking locations, and infecting devices with malware.
