Apple’s Strategy for Watch

● Apple focused on making its watch as its most personalised product


● The watch was seen as a blend of both Fashion and Technology
● Apple offered variety of bands made of leather, steel and high grade rubber
● It offered variations in faces with infinite customisable combinations
Apple’s Watch: Pros and Cons

Pros

● The watches have special qualities such as heart rate tracker and motion sensor
● Strong brand image, innovation, Customer Service
● Watches give brief notifications to limit time spent on phone
● Has personalised watches differentiated by material

Cons

● Relatively expensive
● Slow performance
● Bad battery- Had to be charged everyday
● The apps weren’t optimised with watch
Apple’s Strategy for TV

● Apple collaborated with HBO to offer HBO NOW subscriptions for the first 90 days on
Apple TV
● Apple TV also facilitated Airplay: streaming approved content from iphone, ipad and
MACs on their TV
● Apple also focused on cord-cutting as such

The TV industry is widely growing and Apple changed the way much earlier how people view
TV as so we would recommend Tim Cook to make a big bet on Apple TV.
Car Business or Software for future Cars?!

Apple’s Car Play

● Apps displayed on the Car’s built in screen


● Allows quick access to phone, text, music, navigation and maps
● Car Play allowed apps from manufacturers and allowed features such a climate control

Apple’s Own Car

● Already established players in the market- Toyota, Hyundai


● The quality control barriers were present which could lead to fines and recalls
● Sales and distribution also posed a challenge since the cars couldn’t be sold directly

Apple should invest in software for future cars instead of making its own car since there are a
lot of competitors available in the car manufacturing industry whereas a lot less in the
software industry. Also, with self-driving and electric cars being available in the industry Apple
will have a rapidly growing market there.
Advice for Tim Cook

● Focus on few products rather than an entire portfolio of different products


● Apple should foster and sustain on innovation
● Apple can also make its own TV since its doing well in that market
● Apple can acquire rapidly growing tech startups and companies in their related space
● Apple should avoid areas which are too offbeat from their traditional space
