ESP Selection Design

Select New Single Branch Model


Build a Simple complation using
the completion icon, tubing icon
and with an outlet node. Select
the Vertical Completion button
and place it the single branch
window.
Double click VertWell_1
 Enter 3625 psia in the Static
Pressure text box
 Enter 288 F in the
Temperature text box
 Select Well PI for Model Type
in the Completion Model field
 Select Liquid PI and enter
12.4 stb/d/psi in the text box
 Click Use nonlinear
correction below bubble point
 Click OK
Define the Black Oil Fluid
Model by Setup > Black
Oil and click
 Select the Black Oil Properties
tab
 In the Fluid Name field, enter
ESP
 In the Stock Tank Properties
field, enter the following
parameters :
 WC : 90%
 GOR : 449 scf/STB
 Gas SG : 0.984
 Water SG : 1.026
 API : 30
 In the Calibrating Data at Bubble
Point field, enter the following
parameters :
 Pressure : 2216 psia
 Temperature : 288 F
 Sat. Gas : 0.54 cP
 In the Solution Gas Correlation
field, select Lasater from the
drop down menu
 Click OK
Double click Tubing_1
 In the Tubing_Tubing_1 window,
in the Preferred Tubing Model
field, select Simple Model from
the drop down menu
 In the Ambient Temperature text
box, enter 68 F.
 In the Tubing section (#1
required, others optional) field,
in the Tubing #1 row and the MD
column text, enter 2863
 In the Tubing #1 row and the ID
column text box, enter 3.958
 In the Tubing #2 row and the MD
column text box, enter 2863
 In the Tubing #2 row and the ID
column text box, enter 8.681
 In the Perforations field, MD text
box, enter 9393 ft from the drop
down menu and enter 288 F in
the Reservoir Temperature text
box.
 Click OK
Select Setup > Flow
Correlation and Click
In the Flow Correlation
window, in the Vertical
Flow (Multhiphase) field,
select Hagedorn & Brown
for Correclation and Click
OK
Select Operation > Nodal
Analysis and Click
 In the Nodal Analysis window, in
the Outlet Pressure text box,
enter 250 psia
 Click Run Model

From Result Analysis We Can Select Pump Design
Select Artificial Lift > ESP Design
 Enter the Pump Design Data
parameters :
 Design Production Rate :
1600 sm3/d
 Design Outlet Pressure : 8
barg
 Pump setting depth : 2500 m
 ID : 8.681
 Design Frequency : 60 Hz
 Click Select Pump button
 Select Manufacturer to Reda
 Highlight and select the Reda
HN 13000 pump
 Click OK
Click the Calculate

Model by Setup > Black
Oil and click
 Select the Black Oil Properties

 GOR : 300 scf/STB
 Gas SG : 0.64
 Water SG : 1.05
 API : 32
 Click OK
Double click Tubing_1
 In the Tubing_Tubing_1 window,
in the Preferred Tubing Model
field, select Simple Model from
the drop down menu
 In the Ambient Temperature text
box, enter 102 F.
 In the Tubing section (#1
required, others optional) field,
in the Tubing #1 row and the MD
column text, enter 7500
 In the Tubing #1 row and the ID
column text box, enter 2.441
 In the Tubing #2 row and the MD
column text box, enter 7550
 In the Tubing #2 row and the ID
column text box, enter 6.184
 In the Perforations field, MD text
box, enter 7550 ft from the drop
down menu and enter 175 F in
the Reservoir Temperature text
box.
 Click OK
Select Setup > Flow
Correlation and Click
In the Flow Correlation
window, in the Vertical
Flow (Multhiphase) field,
select Hagedorn & Brown
for Correclation and Click

Select Operation > Nodal
Analysis and Click
 In the Nodal Analysis window, in
the Outlet Pressure text box,
enter 110 psia
 Click Run Model
Result Nodal Analysis
Select Artificial Lift > Gas Lift > Lift Gas
Response
 In the Sensitivity Data field,
for Object select Gas Lift Data
from the drop down menu
 For Variable, select Minimum
injection gas ΔP from the
drop down menu. Use
sensitivity velues of 150 and
250 psi.
 In the Outlet Pressure text
box, enter 1000 psig and
assume an injection gas
surface temperatur 80 F
 In Injection Gas Velues select
mmscf/d from the drop down
menu and enter the following
parameters : 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3,
0.5, 0.7, 1, 2, 3, 5
