Robotics and Its Applications

The document discusses robotics and its applications. It defines robotics as the branch of engineering dealing with robots, which are machines that can be programmed to move and operate like humans. It then outlines several applications of robotics, including in industries, the military, agriculture, healthcare, and daily life. Some advantages are that robots can perform dangerous tasks, work 24/7, and accomplish jobs faster than humans. However, robots also present disadvantages like job loss and maintenance costs. The document envisions robots serving more human-like roles in the future.

“The danger of the past was that men
became slaves. The danger of the future is
that man may become robots.”

DEFINITION OF ROBOTICS
DEFINITION OF ROBOTICS
 A real or imaginary machine that is controlled by
a computer and is often made to look like a
human or animal.
 Robotics is the branch of mechanical
engineering, electrical engineering and computer
science that deals with the design, construction,
operation, and application of robots.
 Robots are just not only alike human or animals
they are also made of different shapes for use in
different fields.
APPLICATIONS OF ROBOTICS
In Industries
In Military

In Agriculture
In Our daily uses
APPLICATION OF ROBOTICS
 Robotics are used in different fields. Some of
them are listed below:
 In Industries

 In Military.

 In Agriculture.

 In Medical/Health care.

 In Our daily life.

APPLICATIONS OF ROBOTICS
(IN MILITARY)
 Robotics are used in military and security fields.
 In military, robots are used to send to dangerous
areas to save human from harm.
 Military robots are used as detectors for example
bomb squad use robots to detect the bombs.
 In wars, robots are used. For example Tanks,
Drone attacks and e.t.c.
APPLICATIONS OF ROBOTICS
(IN INDUSTRIES)
 Robots are also used in industries.
 In industries, robotics are used to handle goods.

 These are used to screw the screws.

 These are used to paint the goods where humans

feels difficult to breath
APPLICATION OF ROBOTICS
(IN AGRICULTURE)
 Robots are used to harbor the crops.
 Robots are used to water the crops.

 Robots are used to cut the crops.

APPLICATION OF ROBOTICS
(IN MEDICAL/HEALTH CARE)
 Surgeons are performing robotic-assisted
surgeries that, among other things, can equalize
little jiggles and movements of a surgeon's hands
when doing delicate procedures, such as
microscopically aided surgery or brain surgery,
etc.
 Smart medical capsules are also robot. Which is
used in surgery. Which is swollen and perform
their work with less pain.
APPLICATIONS OF ROBOTICS
(IN OUR DAILY LIFE)
 There is a robot that specializes in making coffee,
starting with the beans, while another can be
hired as a barman to serve at parties or work in
bars. The makers claim a saving of up to 20
percent on the cost of spilled drinks.
 Called the vacuum cleaner with a brain, Dyson's
robotic cleaner memorizes the complete layout of
a house and covers every area of every room,
making up to 10 decisions per second.
 A Korean robot in the shape of a chair can carry
human beings weighing up to 220 pounds and is
controlled with a simple joystick.
ADVANTAGES OF ROBOTICS
ADVANTAGES OF ROBOTICS
 Going to far away planets.
 Spying on people in ways people can't move and
from views humans can't reach.
 Going far down into the unknown waters where
humans would be crushed.
 Giving us information that humans can't get.

 Working at places 24/7 without any salary and

food. Plus they don't get bored.
ADVANTAGES OF ROBOTICS CONTINUE…
 They can perform tasks faster than humans and
much more consistently and accurately.
 They can capture moments just too fast for the
human eye to get, for example the Atlas detector
in the LHC project can capture ~ 600000 frames
per second while we can see at about 60.
 Most of them are automatic so they can go
around by themselves without any human
interference.
 They can entertain us and help us in certain
tasks.
DISADVANTAGES OF ROBOTICS
DISADVANTAGES OF ROBOTICS
 People can lose jobs in factories.
 It needs a supply of power.

 It needs maintenance to keep it running.

 It costs money to make or buy a robot.

FUTURE OF ROBOTICS
FUTURE WORK OF ROBOTS
 Robotic engineers are designing the next
generation of robots to look, feel and
act more human, to make it easier for us to
warm up to a cold machine.
 Pets of the future might be robots with artificial
intelligence.
 Robots will serve in restaurant, houses and
parties.
 Robots will do almost all works of humans.
CONCLUSION OF ROBOTICS
 Today we find most robots working for people in
industries, factories, warehouses, and laboratories.
Robots are useful in many ways. For instance, it
boosts economy because businesses need to be
efficient to keep up with the industry competition.
Therefore, having robots helps business owners to be
competitive, because robots can do JOBS better and
faster than humans can, e.g. robot can built, assemble
a car. Yet robots cannot perform every JOB; today
robots roles include assisting research and industry.
Finally, as the technology improves, there will be new
ways to use robots which will bring new hopes and
new potentials.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
FAQ(FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS)
 Why we use robots?
Answer:
 There are many different reasons for using a
robot but the central reason for most applications
is to eliminate a human operator. The most
obvious reason is:
 To save labor and reduce cost.

 Human is bad for the product

 Product is bad for the human

 Quality
 What is difference between robots and machines?
Answer:
 A robot is a virtual or mechanical artificial agent.
In practice, it is usually an electro-mechanical
machine which is guided by computer or
electronic programming.
 A machine is any device that uses energy to
perform some activity.
 Is every robot a machine?
Answer
 Yes every robot can be considered as a machine
but not every machine can be considered as a
robot.
