Norm-referenced grading is a system
typically used to evaluate students
based on the performance of those
around them. IQ tests and SAT exams
would be two examples of this system,
as well as grading “on the curve.
Norm-referenced grading is more
common in schools that emphasize
class rank rather than understanding
of skills or facts.
