Differences Similarities Evaluation Measurement

Measurement and evaluation are similar in that they both enable teachers to accumulate experiences and follow diagnosed results, and measure and motivate student achievement and learning. However, they differ in some key ways. Measurement is easier to understand, more quantitative, and focuses on a single aspect like academics, while evaluation is more complex, qualitative, comprehensive of multiple aspects, and involves judgment compared to benchmarks. Evaluation is also a continuous process throughout instruction, while measurement typically occurs at a single point.
