1 Descriptive research
• It describes an existing phenomenon
by using numbers to characterize the
group of individuals
• Data which are typically numeric are
collected through surveys, interviews,
and observation.

2 Correlational research
• It assesses relationship between two
or more phenomena.
• The correlation between two variables
does not mean that one variable cause
the other, but it can be used to predict
their values.

• It attempts to establish cause-effect
relationships among the variables.
• These variables usually involves
variables that cannot be manipulated
by the researcher
