Farakka Barrage Project (FBP) is located at Farakka in
West Bengal. It is a subordinate office under the M/o WR, RD & GR. The Farakka Barrage Project Authority was set up in 1961 with the mandate to execute and thereafter operate and maintain Farakka Barrage Project complex comprising of Farakka Barrage, Jangipur Barrage, Feeder Canal and its associated structures. The project construction commenced in 1961. The project was commissioned in 1975.
