 Not limited to industries.

 Agriculture, transportation.

 Use of machines led to greater division of labour.

 Resulted in increase in production.

 Reduction of cost.

 It influences all sections.

 Industrial society- dynamic.

 Cultural system with technology,economy,business values.

 It is mass production system.

 Rapid industrialisation draws labour from villages.

 Creates rural brain drain.

 Fall in agricultural production.

 Weakens kinship ties.

 Industrial worker feels insecure unhappy , powerless.


 Articulates feelings through unions.

 Relationships based on ‘rational utility’.

 Without human reciprocity.

 Relationships not primary , person – oriented.

 But secondary , role – oriented.

 Slow rate of growth due to other wordly asceticism.

 Now India, one of top ten industrial countries of world
