Who was Marie Curie?
Marie Curie was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, in
Physics and Chemistry. She was born on November 7th,
1867. Her real name was Marie Slodowska.
 She was born in Warsaw. Capital of Poland.
Husband
Marie married with a French physicist named Pierre
Curie on July 26, 1895. They were introduced by a
schoolmate of Marie’s.
What Did Marie Curie Discover?
Marie and Pierre discovered radioactivity and the radioactive
elements polonium and radium, while working with
minerals.
Fascinated with the work of Henri Becquerel, Curie discovered
that X-rays remained constant.
How and When Did Marie Curie Die?
Marie Curie died of anemia on July 4, 1934. She believed to
be caused by prolonged exposure to radiation.
Legacy

name such as Curie Institute and Pierre and Marie Curie
