 Alarm List.
 Browser (optional) which allows to display only alarms
belonging to the selected electrical or system level.
 Toolbar (optional) which allows to acknowledge/ clear
alarms, sorting/filtering, or print alarm list.

 The information which can be displayed about an alarm is:
 Time of activity: time of alarm appearance. The Date & Time
format is defined in configuration.
 Origin: Access path to the alarmed datapoint
 Name: name of the alarmed datapoint
 Status: alarmed state of datapoint
 Alarm state. Represented by one character associated with each
alarm state.
 “U” for active-unacknowledged
 “R” for inactive-unacknowledged
 “A” for active-acknowledged
 “I” for inactive-active-unacknowledged
 “space” for inactive-acknowledged
 Alarm gravity level: level of gravity associated with the alarm,
between 1 and 5.

 Each line of an alarm has color attribute depending on
the state of the alarm and the alarm gravity. These
allows operators to identify quickly the states of the
alarms in the list and to point out some kind of alarms.
 These attributes involve text color and background
color

 The browser is a tree view. The general tree view


structure is first the site
 Then site contains 2 parts:
 Electrical part (with below voltage level, bay level, module
level) which contains process information.
 System part with Ethernet network and the different
devices information

 It is possible to print alarm list


 Using Print button on Tool bar
 Using contextual menu (available with a right click from
alarm viewer) and selecting “Print List”
 The printed list corresponds with the displayed list, in
other words it is sorted and filtered

Alarm refreshment stop
 It is possible to stop alarm viewer refreshment using the
“suspend updates” button
 e.g. in case of flood of information to be able to keep on to
visualize or to acknowledge alarm.
 Then the button is pushed, the line under alarm viewer is
red displayed

Alarm refreshment stop
 When alarm updates are suspended, actions like
filtering, sorting, acknowledgement, clearing are
possible, but the alarm viewer is not refreshed. So the
result changes will only be viewable when the
suspended updates function will be removed. The
other views, especially alarm banner keeps on to be
refreshed.

 The function suspend updates is removed by clicking


on “suspend updates” button again . It is also
removed by clicking on another thumb (event, state,
archive)

 It is possible to modify the order of alarm list (sorting)


or filter the displayed alarms by the following criteria:
 Time of activity
 Name
 Status
 Alarm state
 Alarm level

 There are two ways to modify alarm list sorting:


 The first way, always available, is to click on the column
title corresponding to chosen sorting criteria. Then the list
will be sorted, a small arrow symbol is displayed in the
column title indicate sorting direction:
 increasing order
 decreasing order
 To change direction, clicking on the column title again

 The second way, is via


“configure sort/filter
window”. It’s available
only if the tool bar is
configured.
 The window is displayed
by clicking on the
“sorting/filtering” button
or via contextual menu
“configure/sort filter”.
 The following window is
displayed:

 The user can select the sorting criteria via the upper drop-
down menu. To apply it to the alarm list, he must click on
“Sort” button. To change the sorting direction (increasing
or decreasing), he has to click on “Sort” button again.

 In the drop-down menu other sorting criteria than the


ones mentioned previously are available (transition, user
name, …), these criteria has not be used.

 The filtering criteria reduces the number of alarms


regarding to the whole alarm list, it can mix with sorting
criteria.
 The filtering configuration is only available via the
“configure sort/filter window”
 E.g. filter only the level 1 alarms

 To suppress a filter the user has to
 Select the filter he wants to suppress
 Click on “Clear Selected Filter” or “Reset Selected Filter”
 To validate this modification the user has to click on “OK”, in
this case the Sort/Filter Configuration is closed. Or clicking
on “Apply” button in this case the Sort/Filter Configuration
stays open and the user can carry out other operations
 Two other buttons are “Clear All Filters” and “Reset All
Filters”, it is recommended not to use them because they
delete configuration pre-defined filters.

 To configure a filter the user has to
 Select the filterable field
 Fulfill the condition
 Then fulfill the criteria
 E.g. to display only unacknowledged alarms
 Click on “Cond.” area corresponding to “alarm state” of Filterable
Fields, so a drop-down menu is displayed with different choices
 Once the user has selected the condition another box is displayed to
propose different values of criteria.
 To validate the new filter, the user has to click on “OK” button,
Sort/Filter Configuration is closed OR click on “Apply”, Sort/Filter
Configuration is still open and user can carry out other operations.
Some criteria are not proposed, the user has to enter the value, e.g.
alarm level.
 Different filtering criteria can be mixed together

Alarm Acknowledgement and Clearing

 The operator can acknowledge and clear the alarms from


the alarm list, he must have appropriate
“acknowledgement” right for these operations. It is
possible to define displaying of confirmation window.

 Acknowledgement and
Clearing of individual
alarms
 Select one or several
lines in the alarm list by
clicking in the checkbox.
Then the acknowledge
selection button and
clear selection button
are activated

 Acknowledge or clear the selected alarms by clicking on


buttons:
 Acknowledge alarm selection
 Clear alarm selection

 Acknowledgement and Clearing of individual alarms:


 The selected alarms acknowledgement/ clearing is possible
from the contextual menu, too. Right click on the alarm
viewer and the select “acknowledge selection” / “reset
selection”
 The alarms will be acknowledged/ cleared only if the
acknowledgement / clearing action is available in the
state in which they are

 A group of alarms to acknowledge (clear) is defined by all


the alarms in “unacknowledged” (“inactive-
acknowledged”) state among the alarms currently
displayed in the alarm list

 Define the group of
alarms to handle by
clicking the alarm
browser check boxes..
Then the acknowledge

by clicking on buttons:

 Acknowledgement and Clearing of alarm group:


 The alarm group acknowledgement/ clearing is possible
from the contextual menu, too. Right click on the alarm
viewer and the select “acknowledge group selection” /
“reset group selection”

 The operator can also acknowledge/ clear:


 The alarms of the current displayed page
 All alarms

Alarm Banner

 In this dedicated window, the last “N” alarms which appear


within the system are displayed: this window is called the
Alarm Banner.
 “N” is defined during the configuration phase, from 1 to 10
 The Alarm Banner has same line format as Alarm Viewer,
without Tool bar for operator actions

Event viewer

 Event viewer displays historical events in


chronological order.
 Information displayed in the Event viewer are:
 Binary inputs (SPS, DPS, MPS, SI, Groups)
 Tap position indication
 Measurement change of state and value
 Operator action:
 Log-in and log-off
 Device controls and acknowledgement
 Alarm acknowledgement/ clearing

 The information which can be displayed about an
event is:
 Time stamp validity: a star means that the date of the
event is not valid, no sign means that the date is valid
 Date: date & time of event appearance. The Date & Time
format is defined in configuration.
 Origin: Access path to the datapoint which the event is
associated with
 Name: name of the datapoint associated with
 Event message: message associated with the event
 The event list is not immediately refreshed. The user
has to update

 The event list is not immediately refreshed. The user has
to use “update” button or to switch to another viewer
then return
 It is possible to print event list using the Print button on
Tool bar or using the contextual menu and selecting
“Print List”. The printed list corresponds with the
displayed list, in other words it is sorted and filtered.

 The operator actions that can be done on event list are


printing, filtering, and sorting. The way to proceed
Filtering and Sorting is similar to all the viewers

State viewer

 State viewer displays current status of information.


 Information displayed in the State viewer are:
 State of Binary inputs (SPS, DPS, MPS, SI, Groups)
 State and Value of Tap position indication
