By Bankim Samaddar NTPC - Faridabad: Supdt (O&m-C&i)

This document provides an overview of Distributed Digital Control, Monitoring, and Information Systems (DDC-MIS) used at NTP Faridabad power plants. It discusses the key components of DDC-MIS including the control system and Man-Machine Interface (MMI). The MMI allows operators to monitor all plant information from a single point. The document describes the specific MMI systems used for gas turbines supplied by Siemens and the combined cycle system supplied by BHEL. It outlines the operating terminals, servers, engineering station, and other features that allow reliable monitoring and control of plant operations.

WHAT IS DDCMIS ?
DISTRIBUTED
DIGITAL
CONTROL,
MONITORING &
INFORMATION
SYSTEM
WHY MONITORING?

*HIGH AVAILABILITY OF POWER

*ACCIDENT FREE GENERATION,
TRANSIMISSION & DISTRIBUTION
*HIGH EFFICIENCY OF GENERATION
*LOW COST
*RELIABLE POWER
*ENSURING A VERY HIGH PLANT AVAILABILITY
*IMPROVEMENT IN PLANT EFFICIENCY
WHY DDCMIS ?
1.HIGH FLEXIBILITY IN CONTROL
STRATEGY
2. HIGH SELF-DIAGNOSTIC
3. VERY LOW DRIFT
4. MUCH HIGHER RELIABILITY
5. BETTER DECISION SUPPORT .
6. BETTER OPERATOR INTERFACE
