Shubham Gadekar
The University of Texas, Arlington
This presentation showcases my work in
Revit 2017, Navisworks manage 2017, Energy
Plus which was done by me as part of
Internship at ACCO Engineered System and
Graduate Research Assistant in BIM field at
University of Texas, Arlington. The images
are from models created in various
disciplines using different templates as
required. Apart from modeling done by me,
images contain linked models from other
subcontractors.
• Address, ACCO Engineered System, 1133 Aladdin Ave., San Leandro, CA 94577

• Duration: May 2017 – Jan 2018

POSITION: BIM INTERN • Projects: 1. OP02 Apple, San Jose, California

2. Genentech South Campus Connector, San Francisco, California

3. Genesis North tower, San Francisco

Left side image shows the Architectural and Structural model in
3D (Visual Style: Hidden line and Fine level)
Right Side: MEP model designed by me. In next slides you can
see the Floor plans, Schedules of the same project.

Schedules:
ACCO used to draw
Schedules in AutoCAD
then import it in Revit
for linking.
After joining the
company, I created
Master txt file of
shared parameters
categorized by various
equipments.
Used those parameters to
create Schedule templates.
Now as soon as equipment
is placed in model, it
reflects in schedule. This
helped to increase the
overall efficiency.
This is the final version of
schedules from Revit (on
sheets).
To help employees to get
used to new schedule
system, I created training
material and arranged
some training sessions.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

1. Design and Simulation of Building located in San Francisco, California

• Created building information model of the building (Revit and Design Builder) and conducted
energy analysis using the model and recommended a renovation to enhance energy consumption.
• Proposed the best among three alternative renovations based on energy analysis and cost benefit
analysis. Estimated cost for all masonry work using BIM model.
• Created a 4D simulation in Navisworks

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

2. Bid preparation for Men's and Women's Barack at Cleburne State Park, Texas Public Work
Department
• The project gave close view to the process of bidding.
• Began with review of drawings, alternatives and change orders then prepared of query list
• Calculated amount of required quantities using drawings and VU360
• Calculated budget of project using Quantity take-offs and their pricing, requested and received Quotations
from suppliers and subcontractors using Timberline software
• Estimated activity durations using productivity of labours from RS Means
• Prepared schedule using Primavera P6 and did Resource loading analysis
• Prepare submittals, meeting minutes, change orders, bid proposals, etc.
• Excel spreadsheets are used to track documents, RFI’s, drawings, quotations and change orders.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

3. Time and Cost Optimization of Construction Project

• SGGS Boy’s hostel taken as Case study. First did Quantity take-off and then from
frequent site visits, calculated average unit of work done by labour per day. Used those
values for estimating activity durations. Created schedule using Primavera P6.
Compared the results with absolute schedule used on site and its impact on cost of
project.
