DEFINITION

 The present continuous/progressive is a verb tense that is used to express actions or


activities that are happening at the same moment of speaking.
Example:
- I am speaking English. Yo estoy hablando inglés. (Está sucediendo ahora).
- You are reading a book. Tú estás leyendo un libro.
RULES:
REGLAS:

 1st Rule: Compound consonant-vowel-consonant verbs will repeat the last consonant
and add ING.
Example:
Run (correr): running
Shop (comprar): shopping

2nd Rule: When the verb ends in the vowel "e", the "e" is deleted and we add ING.
Example:
Come – coming ( venir – viniendo)
Write – writing (escribir – escribiendo)
Dance -dancing → (Bailar- bailando)
 3rd Rule: If the verb ends in "ie" these vowels are changed to a "Y", and ING is added.
Example:
die – dying (morir –muriendo)
Lie –lying ( Mentir – Mintiendo)
Tie-Tying (Atar- Atando)

4th Rule: Verbs that end in a consonant including "Y". To this type of verbs only the ING is added at the end.
Example:
Watch------------Watching
Talk--------------Talking
Play-------------Playing

Questions (Wh-) present continuo-progressive

 - What is she doing? (¿Qué está haciendo ella?)


 - She's listening to music (Ella está escuchando música)

 - Where is Ivan Studying (¿Dónde está estudiando Iván?)


 - He's studying in OXFORD (Él está estudiando en OXFORD)

 - When are you coming home? (¿Cuándo vendrán a casa?)


 - We are coming tomorrow. (Llegaremos maniana)
