1st Rule: Compound consonant-vowel-consonant verbs will repeat the last consonant
and add ING.
Example:
Run (correr): running
Shop (comprar): shopping
2nd Rule: When the verb ends in the vowel "e", the "e" is deleted and we add ING.
Example:
Come – coming ( venir – viniendo)
Write – writing (escribir – escribiendo)
Dance -dancing → (Bailar- bailando)
3rd Rule: If the verb ends in "ie" these vowels are changed to a "Y", and ING is added.
Example:
die – dying (morir –muriendo)
Lie –lying ( Mentir – Mintiendo)
Tie-Tying (Atar- Atando)
4th Rule: Verbs that end in a consonant including "Y". To this type of verbs only the ING is added at the end.
