TV Listing

When it started: Radio Times started in 1923 and it was found by John Reith who was then
the general manager of the BBC. The Immediate Media Company is a publisher for a
diverse range of publications however, it is also the publisher for the Radio Times. The
radio times is the worlds first broadcast listings when it when it was founded by John Keith.
The Radio Times was entirely published by in-house BBC Magazines from 1937 however in
2011 the BBC Magazines division was merged into Immediate Media Company.

Which channels advertise in the listing: The channels that advertise in the listing are:-
BBC One, BBC Two, ITV, Sky One, BBC Four, Channel four, ITV 3, etc.

Radio Times Target audience: The target audience for the Radio Times is the secondary audience. This
is because the Radio Times list TV shows which are for the older audience. This means that
the are trying to cater to the older audiences needs. The older audience can watch any of

the channels listed by the Radio Times.

Why have we chosen this TV listing for our documentary?


We have chose his TV listing for our documentary because we have mentioned that we
want the BBC to advertise our documentary and the Radio Times lists the BBC in their TV
listings. Also, we chose the Radio Times because it was the worlds very first TV listing,
which means that the Radio Times must be very well known and a lot of people world wide
will purchase the Radio Times. This means that there will be more popularity for our
documentary and it will be well known. This will help us spread awareness upon anxiety
world wide. The TV listing will cater to older audiences needs.
