This presentation if for pre-final year
students from us placed seniors.
Talks about various profiles in core EEE/EnI,
preparation, and companies visiting.
General recommendations on PS, Projects,
and discussion on format of placement tests.
Most companies have a written round in FD
buildings/ IPC.
Companies requiring software background
may have a coding test in IPC on a
Hackerracnk/mettl type platform. Usually for
1-2 hours.
Final Interviews are in PU office, and may
have 1-2 technical + 1 HR interviews.
(Depends on company)
Questions are a mix of basic electronics, C
programming, Aptitude.
Usually 5-15 students selected for P.I.
Can contain questions not related to field of
work of the company (But in EEE). Eg.- A
Networking company can ask questions on
Con Sys, or Sig&Sys.
Questions are generally are of basic level,
conceptual in nature, and rarely involving
formula/numericals.
1-2 Technical, followed by HR round.
0.5 to 1.5 hrs
Discussing resume, interests, basic concepts,
company specific/profile specific concepts.
Be sure to know all your Academic/registered
projects in and out, specified in your resume.
(Its ok to mention Course assignments, like
ADVD/AnE/CompArch Assignments in your
resume).
Hardware Engineer/ASIC Design Engineer
Analog Engineer/VLSI Engineer
Embedded/Firmware Engineer
Network Engineer
Software Engineer/ Core IT
Electronics components and circuit design.
DigiD(Ob!!), Practical knowledge of
simulation/PCB tools, PCB design flow,
Verilog, ASIC design flow, FPGA projects.
Prior experience with CAD tools is a plus.
Juniper Networks, Qualcomm, Grey Orange
Robotics, Tejas Networks, SanDisk etc.
Transistor level circuit design, Analog
circuits, VLSI knowledge, RLC basics.
uE, ADVD, AnE, ED- Working of BJT, MOSFET,
electronic components, Opamp Working, SAS
basics.
Texas Instruments(analog VLSI),
Qualcomm(digital VLSI), Intel (sometimes)
uC programming, interfacing, integrating
systems, debugging/verification.
uP, CompArch, DigiD (Ob!), Embedded
Systems course of NPTEL, and most
importantly-practical experience.
Arduino is NOT = Embedded
Grey Orange Robotics, Tejas Networks,
Sapient, etc.
Network programming, Design,
Verification/testing
DCN, MTN, CommSys, DSA, Programming-
Network layer model (OSI and TCP/IP),
Protocols etc.
Coding is usually one of the requirements.
Nokia Siemens Network, Huawei, Cisco, Tata
Communications
Scripts for verification/testing, EDA tools
design, Linux programming.
DSA, CP, OOP, company specific domain
knowledge. Programming test on some
platform.
Knowledge of scripting language is a plus.

Choose project wisely
Project should be on the tip of your tongue.
Please DO NOT write fake projects in resume.
You should know in depth about the projects
mentioned, including SOP/LOP/DOP/Apogee
Projects.
Team projects helpful.
Projects covered in CDCs, Electives can also
be mentioned.
