Trinidad and Tobago has a tropical marine climate influenced by the sea, with wet and dry seasons. The country receives 1000-1500mm of rain annually and temperatures range from 25-35°C. There are tropical rainforests located in mountainous areas with over 2000mm of rain annually, and tropical dry forests in western and southern Trinidad that shed leaves during long dry seasons. The climate and forests support a diversity of plants and animals including howler monkeys, paca, iguanas, endangered manatees and leatherback turtles.

Climate of T&T
Trinidad and Tobago has a tropical marine
climate, that is, a climate influenced by the
sea.
There are two main seasons the wet
seasonand the dry season.
The annual rainfall is 1000 to over 1500mm.
The temperature ranges from 25C to 35C.
The trade winds blow all year round.
Thetrade winds are moist as they have
passed over warm seas.

climates, where there is a wet and a dry season.

A couple of hundred centimetres of rain per


year is not uncommon in the wet or rainy
season but there is also a long dry seasons of
several months when there is little rain.

The trees shed their leaves to cope with the dry


season.
